Maybe it’s been on your mind for a while. Maybe you’ve started, but all the digital dashboards, options and jargon is overwhelming. I’m here to tell you, it’s time to face the digital transformation of your business head on.
Although I’m a pragmatic guy, you will be surprised to know how important theory is in the digital landscape, although it changes often. So, let’s wrestle down the theory first. The big adoption of digital technology in theory means “to transform your services or businesses to accelerate business activities, processes, competencies and models to fully leverage the changes and opportunities of the digital online world and their impact in a strategic and prioritized way.”
That’s a powerful definition. Who wouldn’t want accelerated everything in their business? Not to mention the rapidly changing business landscape – I don’t have to tell you anything about the past year.
Well let’s have a quick look at how you can get your business on top of this. It’s always good to start with first things first.
One of the fastest & most efficient methods to start the digital transformation of your business, is by introducing it to the online world through a website, online search engine presence & social media activity. It sounds really basic, but you would be surprised how many businesses lack these three critical components, or if they have them, the website is not maintained, not optimised or broken. Or the social media presence is stagnant.
These three elements need to be in top shape, all the time. If not, it’s like having a delivery van with flat tyres, constantly parked. Our friends at Google regularly change their minds about what makes a good website. A sliding header might have been the thing in 2018 – but now Google will penalise your site for it. The list is endless, and they change more regularly than a toddler changes clothes.
Perhaps you have a social media presence – but you haven’t posted since 2019 – I don’t know about you, but if I see a brand I’m interested in with a stagnant social media presence, it chips away at my confidence in the brand. Or your posts are not on brand and irrelevant – you are competing not just for eyeballs, more importantly you are competing for people’s attention and engagement – and that is something that is earned.
This all said, you need to focus on running your business – we agree. And although a website, online search engine presence & social media activity is a critical part of running your business successfully – it’s something that becomes time consuming & technical. That’s exactly what we do. We look after this critical part of your business, giving you peace of mind.
Is it expensive? Expense is a relevant concept. An optimally functioning website with an active, relevant social media presence is an additional salesperson for your business.
